Book review: "The Woman with Red Hair" by Orhan Pamuk

 It has been a long time since I published an interesting article on my blog. But now I have come with an interesting book which I am reading at this time. A book made me approach literature again.

I really missed reading a book and not least writing texts. Lately I've been discovering other new writers that I've heard of but haven't read yet.

I don't really miss anything from Orhan Pamuk. When a new book comes out, I buy it.

I would now like to return to the book I am reading "The Woman with Red Hair" by Orhan Pamuk.

A short story written in 2016, it is Pamuk's tenth novel, it is the story of a well digger and his apprentice searching for water in barren land.

In mid-1980s Istanbul, master Mahmut and his apprentice use ancient methods to dig new wells; this is the story of their ultimate struggle, but it is also an exploration through stories and images of the ideas of fathers and sons, authoritarianism and individuality, state and freedom, reading and sight.

This short and compelling novel is at once a realistic text investigating a murder that took place thirty years ago near Istanbul and a fictional inquiry into the literary foundations of civilizations, comparing two foundational myths of the West and the East, respectively : Sophocles' Oedipus Rex (a story of patricide) and Ferdowsi's story of Rostam and Sohrab (a story of filicide).

A demonic voice of the eponymous red-haired woman runs along.

The writer Orhan Pamuk is a laureate of the Nobel Prize for Literature, he is one of the emblematic writers of Turkey.

He is a complex writer, a master of details and labyrinthine analogies between the mystical and the real, the author conveys to us that absolutely nothing is up to chance and that, regardless of whether we do not discern everything, every accident has a specific reason.

In the novel The Woman with the Red Hair, I found the construction with the eye of the reader thirsty for perfection, the writer, he masterfully stretches the complicated web of an existentialism located somewhere between Islamism and secularization, as a search not for religiosity, but for one's own self, with good and bad, with the darkness of letting go and the light of dreams.

The story of Cem Celik, a teenager of only seventeen years, is an extremely turbulent one, with countless searches for definition, with the desire to fill his inner emptiness with something burning, unforgettable.

Beyond the harsh climate at home, with a stern father and a traditionalist mother, beyond even Cem's dream of becoming a writer, the real explosion of the young man's existence begins with the father's disappearance, the turning point that will change everything.

The plumber Mahmud, the red-haired woman, traveling theater actress, but especially in Turkey of the 80s, in full revolutionary momentum, have a descriptivism in a concise style, with a philosophy of expressiveness that arouses buzz and empathy in - an inexplicable simultaneity of feeling.

The author unfolds in "The Woman with Red Hair" in three planes that intertwine in a homogeneity of a whole riot.

The foreground is the relationship between Cem Celik and the well master Mahmud, in their frantic search for the earth after finding the primordial odorless and colorless liquid.

 The second plan is the relationship between Cem Celik and the red-haired woman, unfolding between the platonic and the carnal, as an eternal challenge full of sparks between Ying and Yang in the name of animal instincts but, above all, something more than that.

The third plan is the relationship between the adult Cem Celik and the consequences of his teenage mischief.

I also recommend other books by Orhan Pamuk.

Recenzie de carte : "Femeia cu Părul Roșu" de Orhan Pamuk

 De mult nu am publicat un articol interesant pe blogul meu. Dar acum am venit cu o carte interesantă pe care o citesc în această perioadă.  O carte m-a făcut din nou să mă apropii din nou de literatură.

Mi-a lipsit enorm de mult să citesc o carte și nu în ultim rând să scriu texte. În ultima vreme, descopăr și alți noi scritori de care am auzit, dar nu am citit încă nimic de ei.

Nu-mi prea scapă nimic de la Orhan Pamuk. Cum apare o nouă carte, o cumpăr.

Aș vrea acum, să mă întorc la cartea pe care o citesc "Femeia cu Părul Roșu" de Orhan Pamuk. 

O nuvelă scrisă în anul 2016, este al zecelea roman al lui Pamuk, este povestea unui săpător de puțuri și a ucenicului său care caută apă pe pământ sterp.

La mijlocul anilor 1980 Instanbul, maestrul Mahmut și ucenicul său folosesc metode străvechi pentru a săpa puțuri noi; aceasta este povestea luptei lor sfârșietoare,  dar și este o explorare prin povești și imagini a ideilor despre tați și fii,  autoritarism și individualite, stat și libertate, citire și vedere.

Acest roman scurt și convigător este în același timp un text realist care investighează o crimă care a avut loc în urmă cu treizeci de ani lângă Istanbul și o achetă fictivă asupra fundamentelor literare ale civilizaților, comparând două mituri fundamentale ale Occidentului și, și respectiv, Orientului: Oedip Rex al lui Sofocle( o poveste despre patricid) și povestea lui Ferdowsi despre Rostam și Sohrab( o poveste despre filicid).

De-a lungul rulează o voce demonică a femeii cu părul roșu omonim.

Scriitorul Orhan Pamuk este laureat al Premiului Nobel pentru Literatură, este unul din scriitori emblematici ai Turciei.

Este un scriitor complex, maestru al amănuntelor și al labirinticelor analogii dintre mistic și real, autorul ne transmite că absolut nimic nu este la voia întâmplării și că, indifirent dacă noi nu deslușim totul fieare întâmplare are un motiv anume.

În romanul Femeia cu părul roșu, am găsit construcția cu migala cititorului însetat de perfecțiunea, scriitorului,  el întinde cu măiestrie complicata rețea a unui existențialism situat undeva între islamism și laicizare, ca o căutare nu a religiozității, ci a propiului eu, cu bune și rele, cu beznă delăsării și lumina viselor.

Povestea lui Cem Celik, un adolescent de doar șaptesprezece ani, este una extrem de zbuciumată, cu nenumărate căutări ale definirii, cu dorința de a își umple golul lăuntric cu ceva pârjolitor, de neuitat.

Dincolo de climatul aspru de acasă, cu un tată sever și o mamă tradiționalistă, dincolo chiar și de visul lui Cem de a deveni scriitor, adevărata explozie a existenței tânărului începe odată cu dispariția tatălui, momentul de cotitură care va schimba totul.

Meșterul fântânar Mahmud, Femeia cu părul roșu, actriță de teatru ambulant, dar mai ales în Turcia anilor 80, aflată în plin elan revoluționar, au parte de un descriptivism într-un stil concis, cu o filosofie a expresivității care stârnește rumoare și empatie într-o simultaneitate inexplicabilă a simțirii.

Autorul desfășoară în "Femeia cu părul roșu" este în trei planuri care se întrepătrund într-o omogenitate a unui răscolitor întreg.

Primul plan este relația dintre Cem Celik și maestrul fântânar Mahmud, aflați în scormonitoarea căutare a pământului după găsirea primordialului lichid inodor și incolor.

 Al doilea plan este relația dintre Cem Celik și femeia cu părul roșu, desfășurată între platonic și carnal, ca o eternă provocare plină de scântei între Ying și Yang în numele unor animalice instincte dar, mai ales, a ceva mai mult de atât.

Al treilea plan este relația dintre Cem Celik cel adult și urmările zbuciumărilor sale adolescentine.
