"Leadership Wisdom ," Robin Sharma

The two interesting books I have started reading I recently purchased from the bookstore on the hill. I wanted to read these two books by Robin Sharma. They were recommended to me both by a friend and from the specialty trainings that I attended several times.

The great luck and curiosity was when I found only two books by Robin Sharma: "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" one of the best books and the second book is "Achieve Leadership Mastery with The Monk Who -sold the Ferrari."

I started reading the first book "Achieving Mastery in Leadership with the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari," a book that appeared in 1997 and was translated into 70 languages and sold in 15 countries of the world. Robin Sharma is considered one of the top 5 leadership experts in the world. His work is appreciated by rock stars, billionaires and many famous CEOs.

In addition, his social media posts reach approximately 600 million views per year, making him a truly global personality who helps people do brilliant work and realize their highest potential as leaders.

Perhaps the trick is the contribution of the fiction, the fictional introduction of the oratory to transformative intent. Because, of course, the setting, the disturbing decision of the protagonist, his leap into the void..., everything is an interesting life adventure for any reader. Through its pages, we learn the extraordinary story of Julian Mantle, a successful lawyer who, after suffering a heart attack, must face the great emptiness of his existence.

Immersed in this existential crisis, Julian makes the radical decision to sell all his possessions and travel to India. In a Himalayan monastery, he learns the wise and profound lessons of the monks about happiness, courage, balance and inner peace.

With this special and unforgettable story, Robin Sharma teaches us, step by step, a new way of approaching personal, professional and family life. It shows us how important it is to undertake a life journey with a clear direction, with passion and inner harmony.

To my amazement I discovered many interesting things that I want to put into practice after I finish reading the book. The book is easy to read and understand, it is not a philosophical book but a practical one. It helps you put some wise thoughts into practice.

Achieve Mastery with "Leadership with the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma talks about an extraordinary leader who changed the fate of an organization by following simple leadership rituals. The eight visionary leadership rituals advocated in this book highlight the transformational leadership behavior of an inspirational leader. So, if you are the one who wants to make it big in life, this is the must read book for your dream life.

After the success of "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari," Robin Sharma went into another leadership book called The 8 Rituals of Visionary Leaders.

This book is one of the newly developed theories of leadership studied during the organizational behavior course – leadership inspiration.

Achieving Leadership Mastery has radically changed the lives of those who have read it and positively transformed thousands of businesses in every field in existence. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is one of the most powerful and effective practical books on authentic leadership in business and everyday life.

The leadership lessons are structured in eight chapters that include practical methods explained step by step. Specifically, you will now learn how to:

1. Raise your business to the 1st place in the top of the most profitable businesses.

2. You achieve your proposed goal by building a clear vision of the future.

3. Create a deep connection with your people and earn their loyalty (secrets of charisma)

4. You quickly adapt to changes in the business world and turn them into advantages;

5. You manage your important activities so that you are efficient in everything you set out to do

6. You become a brilliant leader starting from the inside out;

Written by a successful motivational speaker and top life coach, this book reveals an extraordinary step-by-step system that will restore the trust, commitment and loyalty of your people, while your business will experience a meteoric rise.

The methods shared by Julian Mantle, the main character of the book, prove their effectiveness as soon as they are put into practice. They combine the ancient wisdom of the East with the success principles of the East. Therefore, it is addressed to those leaders who want innovative ideas for their organization, a different understanding of the laws of prosperity and a relationship with  relationship with partners and subordinates.

One of the most important techniques presented in the pages of the book "Achieving Mastery in Leadership with the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" is the solid foundation of the principles of maximum customer satisfaction, the attitude with which you conquer your target market and earn a top position, regardless of the competition.

With a master's knowledge, simplifying everything to the essence, Robin Sharma shares with you the 8 rituals of a visionary leader - 8 big lessons that executives, managers, entrepreneurs and anyone who wants to master the art of leadership can put into practice as they park, with exceptional results.

I want to present you an excerpt from the book:

Visualize what you want your organization to look like in five, ten, even fifteen years. Awareness precedes change, so you must become aware of all the possibilities the future holds. Another tactic you can use to define your purpose is to figure out what keeps you up at night.

What are the thoughts that haunt you and your clients. You have to go beyond simply meeting their needs. Every big company does this. He tries to get rid of the frustration.

This is the secret to having a group of loyal and satisfied customers. You need to anticipate their needs and build your future vision around them. Here's a fundamental thing you need to do: once you've clarified your purpose, you need to constantly check if you're on the right track. If your dream motivates you, you will notice that there is a gap between where you are and where you are going. This will give rise to the necessary strategy for change.

You need to exercise your leadership influence to ensure that your project becomes a reality for the entire company. Remember, 90% of success comes from implementation and execution. The quality of a visionary leader is the ability to transform positive intentions into tangible results.

- So visionary leaders are people of facts. I am constantly doing my best to discover better and faster ways to merge the present with the future and realize the dream. Am I right?

- Yes, that's right. They understand the ancient Law of Diminishing Intent and make sure it doesn't apply to them.

- I have never heard of this law.

- The Law of Diminishing Intentionality states that the longer you wait to implement a new idea or strategy, the more your enthusiasm will wane.

- The Law of Diminishing Intentionality states that the longer you wait to implement a new idea or strategy, the more your enthusiasm will diminish. I think anyone involved in the business environment is familiar with the feeling you get when you walk away enthusiastically from a motivational seminar full of great ideas that will change your entire life. Then the needs of the day force us to turn our attention to them, and so all our good intentions and all the promises we made, saying we will change, are thrown aside. The more often we put them off, the less likely we are to fulfill them. The lesson we learn here is to act daily on the intention to change before it dies prematurely, burying our future dreams with it. As the German philosopher Johann vom Goethe once said, "Everything that we can do and that we dream that we can do must be started. Cuteness brings with it genius, power and magic.”

The latter guides Peter on how to lead his company out of a potential crisis. Julian, who was once a shrewd and discerning businessman, had recently returned from a life-changing journey of self-discovery in the Himalayas.

My desire is to learn about the eight rituals to become a professional leader and lead a professional team of smart and competent people.

The ritual of a compelling future.

The author states, "The ultimate task of the visionary leader is to dignify and honor the lives of those he leads, enabling them to manifest their highest potential through their work."

A leader can motivate his people to put their heart and soul into their work if they can encourage them for the final job. "Purpose is the most powerful motivator in the world."

Therefore, the leader should link the tasks of his employees to an emotionally compelling purpose.

The author says that when you ask the WHY behind the work assigned to employees, and when employees get the answer to the WHY for their work, they will do it with more passion.

Therefore the organization's vision and mission should be formulated in such a way as to reflect the purpose.

Summary of leadership wisdom. Furthermore, the author explains that the main task of the leader is to get colleagues excited about the compelling cause that contributes to the lives of others. Here the author tells us to take action to help fulfill this ritual. First, it ritualizes wisdom so that our positive intentions translate into tangible results - according to Stephen Convey, we must exercise our integrity in the moment of choice.

Second, communicate the compelling cause so that the emotions are engaged. Third, align visualization with audio so employees are connected. Finally, the author adds that the visionary leader dignifies and honors the lives of the people he leads by enabling them to manifest their highest potential through their work.

Leadership is truly a philosophy of life. One of the leadership lessons I have learned is that immediately before a great victory, one will often experience some form of difficulty. The key is to keep your focus and keep believing.

Great organizations start with great leaders. And every great leader has bold dreams. The best way to succeed in the future is to create it.

Leadership is realizing that the impossible is generally unattempted.

Leadership is not about managing things, but developing people. The best leaders recognize that leadership is a craft, not a gift. They are constantly working to refine their art. And one of the things they develop the most is the ability to be present-based but future-oriented. Great leaders have mastered the twin skills of managing the present at the same time. They must live in the present and guide the improvement of current operations by improving quality, streamlining systems and raising standards of customer care. But at the same time, they must create, shape and cultivate a clear plan for the future.

Purpose is the most powerful motivator in the world. Visionary leaders care more about doing the right thing than appearing smart. Leadership is not about popularity, it is about integrity.

You need the change you want. Don't expect others to become more than you are willing to be yourself.

The Ritual of Human Relattions.

In this ritual, the author explains that visionary leaders do not set short-term goals, but focus on building long-term tangible assets, such as solid relationships based on trust and respect. The author explains that innovative leaders do not get so much profit from a company quickly.

However, they understand this, spending the desired time and allowing people to develop their full potential and implementing a robust system to achieve maximum profit.

A leader must connect with his people. A leader must engage in listening to the spoken and unspoken words of his people. If your employees do not trust you, there is no way to put in the extra effort to deliver the best results.

Here, the author also talks about four simple rules to discipline yourself to build authentic relationships:

KEEPING PROMISES:

“Every promise you break chips off your character.” Whenever you avoid doing things right, you fuel the habit of doing things wrong. Here the author says to keep your promises to become a good leader.

2. AGGRESSIVE LISTENING:

In this part, the author explains that visionary leaders always win the hearts of their people by listening deeply to them and therefore becoming excellent communicators. They show empathy towards their people, identify with them and invest in them. The leader should be enthusiastic and passionate about listening and understanding their people. He should develop the habit of asking open questions and listening carefully to the response of his people.

Visionary leaders win the hearts of their people by listening deeply to them. Most leaders believe that to lead effectively, they must do most of the talking.

Then remember: listening to what others have to say is a sign of respect. It shows that you value your people and believe in them. You need to invest yourself in the person communicating with you. You need to really get behind their eyes and discover what they are thinking. Truly listening is the greatest compliment.

Before you can improve your leadership skills, you need to know exactly what skills need to be improved. An unknown weakness can never be turned into a strength.

Listen with the intention to understand. Great listening is a habit that takes a little time and practice.

Visionary leaders are consistently compassionate.

CONSISTENTLY COMPASSIONATE:

Here the author says that visionary leaders show kindness and genuine concern for their people. In this way, people love them because they always want their leaders to value them and value themselves as people with a vision of a compelling cause to work on in a meaningful way. When any intense circumstances dictate, it takes a lot of courage for a leader to do the right thing.

4. TELL THE TRUTH:

Good leaders are always honest and open and therefore gain the trust of their people. A good leader should routinely get all the information in conversation with his employees. By doing this, he can gain the support of the people and can prepare for the future.

By doing this, a leader will find out what is happening and will be able to invest in the task at hand.

When there is an open line of communication, your people will like you as a leader and will never let you down. The other benefit of open discussion is that it avoids minor issues and fights before they escalate into full-blown wars.

Every visionary leader has mastered the practice of connecting deeply with his followers. He has refined the art of clarifying his vision for the benefit of his people in a way that fully engages them and stimulates them to action.

Through their people skills and talents as effective communicators, visionary leaders touch the hearts of their team and earn long-term loyalty. Simply put, when you enrich the relationship, you grow leadership.

IN THE RITUAL OF CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION.

Some people are blessed with creativity, but we are all creative. Here the author is talking about creative thinkers, which means leaders who later create innovative ideas that will become the new invention or change the scenario of the world.

Classic examples of creative leaders include Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, and Thomas Alva Edison, who invented the light bulb and many other things related to electricity. Innovative leaders are visionaries with great ideas and, most importantly, motivate their team members to turn those ideas into reality.

As a visionary leader, your most important task is to awaken the natural state of creativity that lies dormant in the brain of all people.

A leader must help their employees think smarter and inspire them to explore new ways of thinking. To create space for creative ideas, you must let go of old conditioning and step out of your risk-free zone.

Great leaders are great teachers.

Think of yourself as a coach, inspiring your team to manifest their vision for the future and rallying them behind you convincingly.

When you enrich the relationship, you increase leadership.

The author shares some tips for leaders to become creative and innovative:

1. Help your team with their thinking: As a leader, you need to know what your team thinks about the new ideas that someone has shared. This will help you help them become more confident in sharing their ideas.

2. Be creative every day: A leader should look for innovation and creativity in every opportunity. Be proactive rather than thinking that this opportunity will create an opportunity to step into it, but transform it creatively, acting on the ideas generated.

3. Inspire others to do the same: As a leader, present the creativity of any of your team members to the team. This will influence others to do the same.

4. Bring groups together: As a leader, you should not separate creative people; they should all sit in one group. By doing this, they will spark ideas in each other.

TEAM UNITY RITUAL

I would start with an Indian quote: “Great leaders are great teachers and trainers.” The author explains that a good trainer energizes challenges and develops and equips his people. Just as a dedicated teacher is obsessed with the growth and improvement of his students, in the same way, a true leader always encourages, motivates and supports his people to achieve higher standards of performance. A leader must understand that everyone wants to work well and efficiently. However, lack of appreciation gives negative results and becomes latent as employees become mediocre performers.

The author tells us about finding good performers and employees, which is crucial for motivating your employees. And when you see them, recognize and reward them. This will not only benefit those who do exemplary work, but will also encourage their diligent efforts, and those who are able to achieve high results will have someone or something to imitate.

Furthermore, the author says that it is equally important to recognize and reward positive actions; it is essential to remember not to instill fear of punishment or retribution for mistakes. Some basic principles from The three are:

Be specific, immediate, public, and honest.

As a leader, what will you do? Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

The work environment and atmosphere should be a free environment for performance and motivation.

Here the author talks about four behaviors as a leader who cares about team unity to promote employee benefits:

1. Create a vision:

A leader must create a vision for his team members that they understand and support. A leader can also help team members establish a vision for other team members. Then, as a result of this team has developed an achievable and meaningful concept.

2. Respect differences of opinion:

A visionary leader should listen to his employees, consider their ideas, and discuss with them if something is different.

Sometimes a leader might have a fight with his employee, but at that time the leader should explain his position very respectfully and the leader should show his employee his work. But a leader should not hold grudges against the people he has had a fight with.

A leader can achieve team unity even when all the employees do not agree with your decision or position; in this case, the leader can listen to their ideas with respect.

3. Build Team Trust:

A leader should give team members all sorts of opportunities to get to know each other in detail by doing some team events and activities. This will build good relationships between teams and therefore trust. The author says that trust is an essential component of a unified team

THE RITUAL OF ADAPTABILITY AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Here the author says that change is the most dominant force in the business world. However, every visionary leader goes beyond fighting change. To master change, he develops a discipline to manage the unexpected. In difficult times, he who learns the most wins the game of struggle.

This refers to today’s scenario of high uncertainty and complexity in a business environment. An organization must constantly strive for innovation and reinvention to maintain its competitive advantage.

The Author further shares his philosophy that it is like water – it flows and mixes with everything and adapts to whatever comes in.

When you adjust something, you recover from anxiety and fear; it will bring initial changes and then it will move forward vigorously.

And it will flow persistently until you reach the result. But the physiological effect does not say that our minds are all programmed to resist change called homeostasis, which wants to return to balance, but we cannot restore homeostasis.

Visionary leaders need to reduce anxiety by reminding them of this change and reminding them of the benefits of change.

Summary of Leadership Wisdom Hindi

It is the duty of a good visionary leader to fertilize and program his mind and that of his employees with good thoughts and what new things he will receive in the next upcoming opportunities, what he will learn from it and how he will move forward and succeed from them. .

Another thought leader needs to condition in the mind of his employee is that the level of success will skyrocket if we do not focus the activities and initiatives on our team chose to focus.

In this ritual, the Author tells leaders to ask a few questions so that they know that as a leader they are able to adapt to any change in the organization.

1) Did I accept the change positively?

2) Did I see the change as an opportunity?

3) Did I learn new technologies, plans, and operating rules quickly?

4) Did I take people’s concerns for my doubts?

5) Did I acknowledge my personal mistakes, learn from them, and move on?

6) Are you optimistic?

You must first navigate the transition process to survive change in any organization. This includes finding different ways to help you become a more grounded leader, understanding the impact of change on you, and understanding the impact of your behavior on others.

Here, the author shares five tips for leaders’ flexibility to embrace organizational change:

1. Be curious:

As a leader, you need to be curious about everything. Therefore, you should express wonder and ask a lot of questions before you judge or decide on anything. Then, the leader can dedicate at least half an hour on Sunday to planning the following week’s lesson. After this, leaders should follow the five-step practice to ensure that the plan is implemented into action.

2. Don’t stick to one plan:

As a leader, you don’t need to stick to one plan; You should always have alternative methods like plan C. This will help you in any situation where you can change your plan for the benefit of your organization.

3. Create a support system:

As a leader, you should take every member of your team with you to the meeting.

4. Understand your reaction to change:

As a leader, you need to be clear about your thoughts about the change that is about to take place. This will help you be direct with your employees.

5. Immerse yourself in new environments and situations:

As a leader, when you fully immerse yourself in change, you practice joining new people, trying new things, and being part of the new team.

The Ritual of Personal Effectiveness

In this ritual, the Author shares his new philosophy of time management in time management. He says that it will lead you if you don’t show your time. The art of getting things done is knowing what needs to be left undone.

This means that a leader needs to focus on the necessary things, neglecting the unnecessary ones.

The model, “The Time Model for Visionary Leadership,” will help leaders manage their time. It is a “weekly planning practice.” In this exercise, leaders should make a weekly schedule for the task to be accomplished in the coming week.

The leader can then dedicate at least half an hour on Sunday to plan the following week’s lesson. After this, leaders should follow a five-step practice to ensure that the plan is implemented into action.

1) Review your future vision and align it with your goals for the year;

2) Break down your goals into smaller, mini-goals or milestones;

3) Schedule and prioritize these milestones;

4) Delegate effectively; and

5) Track milestones achieved.

    THE SELF-LEADERSHIP RITUAL

“All leadership begins within by experiencing, refining, and defining who we are; seeing from our highest, most enlightened perspective.”

If you have ever flown on a flight, you may have heard the stewardess or flight attendant say, “In an emergency, put on your oxygen mask first.”

The author applied the principle to leadership. To become a great leader for others, you must first take care of yourself. Everyone wants to know how to climb the corporate ladder, but they don’t realize that you will start from within.

Leadership Wisdom

Here, the author shares some discipline patterns for a visionary leader:

1. The Discipline of Personal Renewal:

A leader should be happy, joyful, and content with his life. His focus should be on work, but with fun and free time. The author says, “People don’t leave companies; they leave managers.” So, if a leader is a happy, inspiring person, he will have a positive impact on others.

To achieve this, a leader should continuously work towards self-growth physically, mentally, and spiritually every day.

2. The Discipline of Abundant Knowledge:

A leader must develop the habit of reading and constantly updating themselves with knowledge and wisdom. A visionary leader should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Self-awareness is a core of authenticity that leads to confidence.

3. The Discipline of Physicality:

A leader should always take care of their health. Make time to exercise and say no to illness.

4. The Discipline of Early Waking:

A great leader must live each day as if it were their last day to work to their full potential.

Next, the author talks about three pillars of self-leadership for visionary leaders.

Pillar 1: Self-Discovery:

To become a great leader, visionary leaders must first understand themselves. An innovative leader must understand what is important to them, what energizes them, and what they believe in. If you know these things, you can make decisions with confidence. All great leaders throughout history are considered to have dared to stand up for their beliefs.

Pillar 2: Self-Acceptance:

Self-acceptance means being 100% honest with yourself and accepting self-criticism. As a leader, when you achieve self-acceptance, your growth comes from a less stressful place.

As a result, you will begin to focus on the areas you want to focus on, especially the areas of growth that matter to you.

Pillar 3: Self-Management:

As a leader, you need to be self-managed. This way, you can be more productive, more focused, and more able to work independently. Self-management involves taking responsibility and managing your time and resources effectively.

As a leader, you need to balance well and prioritize your things at the right time so that you don't get overwhelmed or push yourself too hard.

The Ritual of Creativity and Innovation

Some people are blessed with creativity, but we are all creative. Here the Author talks about creative thinkers, which means leaders who create innovative ideas later on, which will become the new invention or change the scenario of the world.

Classic examples of creative leaders include Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, and Thomas Alva Edison, who invented the light bulb and many other things related to electricity. Innovative leaders are visionaries with great ideas and, most importantly, motivate their team members to turn those ideas into reality.

As a visionary leader, your most important task is to awaken the natural state of creativity that lies dormant in the brains of all people.

A leader must help their employees think smarter and inspire them to explore new ways of thinking. To create space for creative ideas, you must let go of your old mental conditioning and step out of your risk-free zone.

Here, the author shares some tips for leaders to become creative and innovative:

1. Help your team with their thinking:

As a leader, you need to know what your team thinks about the new ideas that someone has shared. This will help you help them become more confident in sharing their ideas.

2. Be creative every day:

A leader should look for innovation and creativity in every opportunity. Be proactive, rather than thinking that this opportunity will create an opportunity to step into it, but transform it creatively, acting on the ideas generated.

3· Inspire others to do the same:

As a leader, introduce the creativity of any of your team members to the team. This will have an impact on others to do the same.

4. Bring groups together:

As a leader, you should not separate creative people; they should all sit in one group. By doing this, they will spark ideas in each other.

The Ritual of Contribution and Meaning

In the ultimate leadership ritual, the Author explains that your legacy will manifest the deepest and best you have in your life. Leaving a gift is not about impressing your friends or getting to the top. It is not about looking good or bad. It is about doing your duty and actualizing humanity.

This ritual makes leaders understand that a leader has a role in the larger scheme of life and can make a difference in society. When all is said and done, the highest and most lasting gift you can ever give is the gift of what you leave behind.

This means that as a leader, no matter what action you take, what footprint you leave behind. The difference is that the beginning of something does not end with you.

As a leader, you must take actions that will focus on a better future for all. A leader’s job is to raise more leaders. As a leader, you need to help your team members do things they never dreamed they could do. You need to inspire them for their hidden talents, express their ideas, and do the best work of their lives.

Nothing can happen until the leader moves and takes massive action. If, as a leader, you will not start anything, how can your team member start? If you say negative words about opportunity, your team members will be scared of change and they will not succeed.

So, visionary leaders need to make a real difference and contribute to the human race. So, after reading the summary of this book and understanding the philosophy of Robin Sharma, you can learn inspiring leadership techniques.

In the last ritual, he connects leadership with legacy. Essentially, it talks about the ritual of contribution and Meaning.
