My last trip as a teenager.

Bran Castle, Viscri Village, Zărnești Bear Reserve, Ursite Temple, Cetățuia, Râșnov Fortress, Urlătoare Waterfall, Rupea Medieval Fortress, and others I will present in this article.

After an unforgettable week in Brașov and Poiana Brașov, we went to see other locations.

The long-awaited moment came to go to Bran Castle, about which we heard many stories from friends. I was fascinated by this mysterious location that I wanted to visit. We wanted to make a foray into the history of our nation. Bran Castle is also known as Dracula's Castle.

The next morning, my family and I set off for Bran Castle. We passed through Brașov and to reach the final destination, we passed through the village of Viscri.

I heard that Prince Charles' village was near Brașov. It has become famous since Prince Charles bought this property. The village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a clean and architectural image of traditional Saxon houses.

Here I saw in almost all the houses the wooden shutters painted in bright colors.

After leaving the village of Viscri, we continued the road to Rasnov Fortress, which is considered the oldest fortress in Rasnov.

A tourist attraction where I saw one of the best preserved cities in Transylvania. Râșnov Fortress is also called the Peasant Fortress because here, the first and main occupation of the builders was agriculture. It dates from 1335 and has a simple architectural style, which resembles that of ordinary houses, but retains its medieval air even after 500 years of existence. We walked through the fortress, and visited the exhibitions there. I learned its history and interesting stories from the guide who provides services to tourists.
After visiting Râșnov Fortress, we went to Bran Castle, it is 30 km from Brașov. We were able to visit one of the most spectacular tourist attractions.

Bran Castle has a lot of fascinating mysteries and a very interesting history behind it. It was originally built for military purposes, but over time its structure has changed. Many tourists choose to visit it because of the story about Dracula.

It was a beautiful, cool spring afternoon, and many tourists were visiting the castle. We asked for a tourist guide to tell us about the history of the Castle. We were a group of 10 people.

Our little journey through the Castle started from the inner courtyard, behind a large wooden gate, a 57 m deep well was dug in the 15th century.

The well was used for two purposes: water supply and place of refuge.
The courtyard was decorated with flowers, flowers being a passion of Queen Mary. Also in the inner courtyard, at the base of the round tower (former room of the gunner-tower being once the powder tower). Queen Mary arranged a chapel, painted by Arthur Verona. In which in 1941 Princess Ileana laid down the earthly remains of Prince Mircea, thus fulfilling an older wish of his mother.

I learned from the guide that Bran Castle is one of the most popular castles in Romania, visited by both Romanian and foreign tourists. The legend of Dracula makes Bran Castle one of the most sought after tourist attractions in Romania.

The castle houses 57 rooms and 4 floors. Going up the 29 steps, we entered the guard room, then we went up to the 1st floor. This floor houses the Queen Maria's apartment, consisting of the bedroom, living room and large living room. The old Castilian's office became, after 1920, the Queen's bedroom, closed by the 2 wrought iron doors. In the chapel from the Middle Ages, the Castilian Hall is now arranged, and the old council hall was transformed, at the beginning of the last century, into the Great Hall, where you can still see the traces of a straight silhouette, painted in fresco.

The interiors are sprinkled with reproductions of images from the interwar period, and among the representative pieces on the first floor is a Dutch statuette from the seventeenth century, carved in olive wood, depicting St. Joseph and bronze sculpture, made in 1935 by Princess Ileana-head of Archduke Stephen, his first son.

During the restoration works from the interwar period, a secret, narrow staircase was hidden in the east tower, hidden in the thickness of the wall. The stone steps connect the first and third floors. With some small, lighted ones, the staircase gives the feeling of a catacomb.

Nature has been generous with this area. It is surrounded by the impressive silhouettes of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului massifs, two of the most important elements in the Romanian mountain tourist landscape. The landscape in this area is a harmonious mix of different relief sleepers, and those who visit the castle have wonderful views from the heights.

Going down the main access staircase, you will reach the second floor. The house of the main staircase is decorated with painted bas-relief, of Renaissance influence, the Madonna with the Infant and Saint John the Baptist-child. Here was arranged King Ferdinand's apartment, consisting of living room, bedroom and living room.

Leaving the costume hall, you pass a room where there is an exhibition of shields and knives, used over time in this region. After crossing the defense corridor, at the end of it you reach the cinema hall, where you run, for a few minutes, documentaries related to the Royal House, then go down to the inner courtyard, on the stone staircase.

The largest room of the castle was designed by the architect Karel Liman in an old bridge of the fortress and thus became the Music Hall and the library, one of the favorite places of Queen Maria. In this room, the sovereign listened to George Enescu, who divinely played the violin, and the pianist Cella Delavrancea. Now on display is a piano by Ernest Rosenkranz, made in Dresden in the 19th century, along with photocopies of Queen Mary or Princess Ileana and a charcoal pot called a brazier, made of brass in the 18th century, used for heating the room.

The visit continues with the loggia, built in 1922, according to the plans of the architect Liman, with the arches open to the inner courtyard, arranged as a summer living room.

The terrace, built in the old bridge of the fortress, is the space where you can see, in the Casa Vămii valley, the trade road, the defense walls, the power plant, arranged in 1932, and to the north, the wooden pavilion at the top of the keep, from where the guards of the fortress guarded the area between the Bucegi Mountains and Piatra Craiului, announcing the approach of the enemies.

During the interwar period, an apartment for Prince Nicholas was arranged on the 4th floor. In its living room you can admire a rich buffet carved in Italian neo-baroque style, a neo-renaissance table and a hexagonal display case, Biedermaier style, where daggers from the private collection of Archduke the Habsburg are displayed, and in the game room we find a set consisting of a table and 4 chairs, in the style of the English Regency from the early nineteenth century.

After Bran Castle, we headed to the Temple of the Bears, another destination that our parents told us was where their wishes come true. From half an hour by car is the largest Brown Bear Reserve in the world Here we had the opportunity to see animals in a wild environment and where you can enjoy an unforgettable landscape.
We sat there, fed bears, took pictures. Then I went to the Bear Temple.

Those who want to visit this location should know that it is located 45 km from Brasov, the Temple of the Hate of Sinca Veche has a fascinating story. From there many miraculous stories and events that scared me.

It has become one of the most visited tourist attractions because the people who have been there have claimed that this is where the wishes come true. Specialists in dowsing (the phenomenon by which a living system receives extrasensory a certain infoenergetic signal of interest, unknown) claimed that the Temple of the Bears emanates a clean and rare energy.

The fascinating view did not let you go.
After a break, where we had lunch at a restaurant there, with traditional Romanian food.

After finishing visiting those beautiful places, we went to another destination with a historical note. It is called Cetățuia or Dealul Cetățuia, Cetățuia Brașovului with an important tourist objective that is close to the historical center of Brașov.

From the quotes you can admire the beauty of Brasov, the historical and the ninth part of the city, but you can also relax on the terrace inside. The fortress of Brașov has served as a prison and warehouse in the past. And now a tourist attraction for visitors who come to admire the view of the place.

We got in the car and went to another destination we wanted to visit: Urlătoarea Waterfall. To get to the Waterfall you have to start from Busteni, a city located near Brasov, about 30-50 minutes by car. It is one of the most accessible waterfalls in Romania, being a very popular tourist attraction. There you can find cold and flowing water.

After leaving behind the Urlătoarea Waterfall, take it to Tâmpa nature reserve where you will find 35% of the butterfly species in Romania. Mount Tâmpa is one of the main tourist attractions of Brasov. It is about 950 meters and once we got there we had the opportunity to see the most beautiful view of the city.
Mount Tâmpa has a protected area, covers an area of 150 ha and is already recognized for the rare flowers we could see there, and for the multitude of butterfly species.
Our route continued with the Medieval Fortress Rupea, the fortress that was reborn from the ashes. The Medieval Fortress is in the top of the oldest fortifications in Romania. During the communist period, the fortress became a ruin, and in 2002 the steps for the renovation of the entire city of Rupea began. In 2013, all the renovation works were completed, and since then the Rupea Fortress has become a tourist objective targeted monthly by thousands of tourists per month.
After I finished this wonderful location. I went home. We went to see the Prejmer Saxon Village, the most beautiful Saxon village in Romania. Located 15 km from Brașov, the Saxon village of Prejmer has become a tourist attraction that you should not miss. It is famous for its fortified church which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church that is a testimony of the Transylvanian Saxon tradition. It is the most imposing fortified church in south-eastern Europe, which also has three Michelin stars, the highest distinction for a building in our country.
I finished this wonderful trip with my family through Brașov County.
We have enriched our knowledge both historically, culturally and traditionally. It was an unforgettable holiday. It remained in my memory as something sacred to my soul.
