Many people, like true patriots of the country, have sacrificed themselves to defend their homeland against their enemies, and the current generations are wasting the glory of the past, being manipulated by corrupt politicians.
Before registering for the competition, I wanted to write about Chisinau, the city where I was born, and about the historical - cultural and architectural values of the Bessarabian capital. I have often wondered, walking through the city of Chisinau, if he has anything preserved from his past. Unfortunately, the historical and architectural monuments are too few to reveal the true personality of the city which would attract more tourists and investment as a true European capital that wants to become. This saddened me even more, that they ended up ruining everything urmă the next generations that will be born here will not be able to enjoy the architectural, historical and cultural objects of Bessarabia.
Chisinau is the only historical city protected by the state. And it has the largest collections of buildings worth 977 monuments. However, historic Chisinau is on the verge of extinction. During the years 2006-2011 alone, 40 state-protected monuments were removed from the earth. Another 17 buildings, declared by law as monuments, are being ruined with each passing day. Archaeological remains have the same ungrateful fate. The practice of condemning the demolition of one monument per month, from those included in the Register of Monuments in Barasarabia protected by the state, continues: even in recent months, three more buildings have been "assassinated" under the rule of law.
The problem that is visible in Chisinau is the destruction of historical Chisinau, the deplorable state of the monuments of culture, history, architecture and archeology. The cultural insensitivity of some politicians and civil servants is obvious, as well as the lack of responsibility in exercising the service obligations and their bad will.
Another problem facing Chisinau is the development and protection of so many green belts and parks in Chisinau, the future of urban gardening, pollution reduction and the creation of an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient architecture and transportation system.
Citizens and young NGOs want to keep the park and turn it into an area that city dwellers can use and be proud of. Today, only some areas of the park are used, which allows the construction of new buildings on unused land.
The city of Chisinau is known for its large number of green belts and parks. Because the current pollution and many industrial areas no longer allow the promotion of the city as sustainable and "green", the city of Chisinau could be promoted internationally as the "forest city".
Another problem that is the historic city is the preservation of monuments, the restoration of old street models in the city center, the regeneration of old street models, the regeneration of industrial areas, the adaptation of new architectures and values that can be strengthened to promote Chisinau.
Another problem is poor quality infrastructure, which needs to be considerably improved. The young people of Chisinau should be trained in preserving the natural charm of the city and its historical and cultural values, inspiring their love for their hometown. Unfortunately, Chisinau is increasingly threatened by new construction, while public squares and sidewalks are usually used as illegal parking lots.

The communist regime wiped many churches, monasteries, buildings and monumental buildings from the face of the Bessarabian land. The atheist Bolsheviks tried to rewrite the history of our nation, starting with the destruction of spaces of historical and spiritual value.
Opposed to the practice of European states for the preservation of historical monuments, today's Bessarabians, inspired by the irresponsibility of politicians and the country's leadership towards the historical and cultural values of our lands, tend to collapse and eradicate them. We should take an example from states that have a historical and cultural personality. We need a change and I do not mean only the economic, political, social part, but also the cultural-historical tourism part. We must promote values, beliefs, history and culture. But the situation in the economic, social and political country, which does not allow the implementation of projects to develop and bring investment in the country and in Chisinau, will be difficult for us to move forward if we do not break with the Soviet past we had and to accept in fact that we are Romanians from the Geto-Dacians and to change for the better, for a better future and a European capital.
Finally, political groups and parties, municipal administration, state administrative structures should reach a dialogue to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the city and the country in general. To prove that they care about the Bessarabia in which they were born, the capital they lead and its inhabitants.
